Problem with my Atari 2600.?

Lately my atari 2600 has been acting up on me. It seems to be overly sensitive and will reset at the slightest nudge, like if I happen to tug on the joystick cable by accident. This is really aggravating. It happened again yesterday just as I was about to reach a high enough score on River Raid to earn the patch. I was furious. Sometimes I wish I had bought Colecovision instead. Has anyone else had a similar problem with their console?
