Loft insulation in the rafters?

Your conversion was incomplete if the walls floor and ceilings were not insulated or insulated right. The floor joists should have open faced running parallel with the joists, then another layer running perpendicular with the bottom layer of insulation. The walls should have been insulated with foam between the studs as well as between the rafters with foam insulation or fibergl. Always remember that the ceilings need to breathe as hot air rises and can cause condensation between the insulation and the ceiling. You will need to insert the foam waves from the soffitt up underneath so that air can circulate between the insulation and the sheathing, unless you are going to insulate with foam which will give you a higher R value, as it eliminates any air gaps. Why didn't the contracter who did the conversion see that everything was insulated right?
