Why do Christians seem like peculiar people to the world?

We are peculiar in that we don't laugh at crude jokes, cuss, we pray before we eat, trust in God, love those who don't love us, pray for those who despitefully use us and persecute us, etc. etc. We're called to love our enemies and not only those who love us. Who in this world can do that? I know we aren't perfect in many ways but, when we follow Christ these things should come forth.
