What is the proper way to greet a women who's husband died in a car crash at a funeral?

i don't know her very well at all. we're catholic. should it be a hug and a "i'm am very sorry for you loss.". or a kiss on the cheek and hug with a "you have my condolences." or a hand shake and "it's a real shame ya know..."
