Im going to make a painting but I dont know what paints to buy??

iv got my canvas ready and i know what im going to paint but im not much of an artist at all. the reason why im painting this in the first place is kind of for a joke between me and my friend, therefore, it doesnt need to look good thank goodness coz i suk! ha. but theres that paint which kinda like sticks off the canvas. like it bulges/bubbles out. i dont really know how to explain it but its good to like put a toothpick and drag the colours if u get me? whats it called? thankyouuu
